6.37.1. Installation of Grep

First fix a potential security issue identified upstream:

sed -i -e '/tp++/a  if (ep <= tp) break;' src/kwset.c

Prepare Grep for compilation:

./configure --prefix=/usr --bindir=/bin

Compile the package:

make

To test the results, issue:

make check

Install the package:

make install

Installed programs: egrep, fgrep, and grep

egrep	Prints lines matching an extended regular expression
fgrep	Prints lines matching a list of fixed strings
grep	Prints lines matching a basic regular expression
